Install and configure Crystal Reports software, and then
install the application server client software that you want on the
Crystal Reports Server. Follow the instructions for installing WebSphere® Application
Server or WebLogic Server.
About this task
Important: (Windows 2003
Service Pack 1 only) Before you install Crystal Reports, you must
set Data Execution Protection for essential Windows programs and services only. If you
run Crystal Reports designer on the same server as Crystal Reports
Server, run Crystal Reports 2008 designer with Crystal Reports Server
2008 V1. If Crystal Reports 2008 V0 is installed on the server, uninstall
or upgrade this designer to Crystal Reports 2008 V1. Complete this
installation before you install Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1.
Procedure
To install and configure the Crystal Reports server follow
these general steps:
-
Install Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 (Named License required)
and then Crystal Reports 2008 V1 designer.
-
Configure Crystal Reports for IBM® Enterprise Records.
-
Run the Central Management Console (CMC) on the Crystal
Report servers.
-
Select Servers from the menu
and verify that all servers are running.
-
Select Users and Groups from
the menu, and select User List.
-
Click the Guest account and select Properties.
-
Select Named User for the Connection Type,
and clear the Account is Disabled check box.
Important: Use the Named User license
because, otherwise, you need hundreds of concurrent licenses to view
reports in IBM Enterprise Records administration
client. Each concurrent license is equivalent to one report.
-
Click Save & Close to set
the Guest user account options.
-
Locate the IP Port number specified
in the server element of the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4.0\java\lib\clientSDKOptions.xml file.
This port is used to connect the IBM Enterprise Records server and the Crystal
Reports server. The default port number is 1566.
-
In the CMC, select Servers from
the menu, click the server ReportApplicationServer,
and select Properties.
-
In the Command Line Parameters field, add
-ipport IP_Port_number to
the end of the command line, outside of any path quotation marks.
For example, add -ipport 1566 and
be sure to use a normal dash in the command, not a long dash.
-
Click Save & Close to set
the IP Port number.
-
In the CMC, select and highlight all servers in the
CMC server list, select Restart Server to restart
the servers.
Wait until the list automatically refreshes,
and then ensure that no Stale servers are shown (flag in the Stale
column). If Stale servers are shown, restart those servers.
-
Select Servers from the menu,
and verify that all servers are running.
-
Copy the contents of the folder containing
the Crystal Reports templates (RPT files), specific to the data model
you are using, from the following data-model-specific folder:
IBM Enterprise Records Media/Reports/DataModel
to
the following location on the Crystal Reports Server:
Drive:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0
\Samples\en\Reports
Important: Do
not copy the directory, only the contents of the directory.
