Editing the configuration XML files
You must edit each configuration XML file to provide the property values for your environment. These files are located in the Profiles folder under the profile you created. You can use any text editor to open and edit the files.
About this task
After you generate a deployment profile, go to the
XML files for your profile and open each by using a text editor. The
descriptions in the file tell you what to enter. For example, in the
Object Store Configuration for New Installation profile, you are looking
for the following files:
- configureFPOS.xml
- configureROS.xml
- createMarkingSetsAndAddOns.xml
- environmentObjectStoreConfiguration.xml
- transferWorkflows.xml
Procedure
To edit the XML files:
-
Edit the value entries.
Review each value and either replace the default value or enter a valid value with an appropriate value for your site. For more information about the values, see the descriptions in the file. Verify that the default values for the remaining properties are correct for your site.
-
Do not supply values for passwords.
You can run the storepasswords command to add encrypted passwords to the file.
- Ensure that you set the enabled attribute value in the configuration value tag at the beginning of each file to true in any task XML file you edit. Set this attribute to enable and run the configuration task
