Getting started with IBM Knowledge Catalog

Use IBM Knowledge Catalog to create and maintain high-quality data assets that are easy to find. Catalogs connect people to the data and knowledge that they need.

IBM Knowledge Catalog includes a data governance framework that you can use to enrich your data assets with metadata. The data governance framework ensures that data access and data quality are compliant with your business rules and standards. IBM Knowledge Catalog also provides fine-grained control of the tasks that each user can perform. By using a combination of user roles and permissions and collaborator roles, you can control the actions that users can perform.

With IBM Knowledge Catalog, you can:
  • Apply a data governance framework by implementing tools that classify and categorize data
  • Measure data quality based on accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, validity, or any custom quality dimension
  • Curate data at scale
  • Track data lineage
