Build interactive visualizations to explore, analyze, and present your data.

Cognos Dashboards provides a graphical canvas for a business user to investigate data for patterns and insights. The service includes a wide range of customizable visualization options to help you create interactive dashboards.

You don't need to understand coding or SQL to gain insights. To build a dashboard, drag data sources, visualizations, and widgets to the main canvas. You can also customize the appearance of the visualizations to make the data more visually appealing.

While Cognos Dashboards provides you with options to create interactive dashboards, Cognos Analytics offers additional functions, including enterprise reporting, AI features, and an even more powerful dashboard experience. For more details, refer to Cognos Analytics dashboards.

Your Cloud Pak for Data license limits the number of users who can create or view dashboards in Cognos Dashboards and Cognos Analytics. You can assign the Create dashboards permission to a maximum of 5 users and the View dashboards permission to a maximum of 20 users. Users with the Create dashboards permission can also view dashboards. If you exceed these limits, you must purchase a Cognos license.
