Getting started with Data Product Hub

Use Data Product Hub to find, create, and share data products across your organization. With many customizable assets, properties, and domain capabilities, Data Product Hub ensures that data products are packaged to be easy to find and use by data administrators, producers, and consumers. You can leverage data producers at scale to meet your business needs.

With Data Product Hub, you can set up collaborator roles for data administrators, data consumers, and data producers.

  • Data administrators create the service instance and manage the data community. Administrators ensure that the community has the necessary resources to operate and customizes the community to meet business needs.
  • Data consumers can search through an inventory of high-quality data products or request unique, curated data products to address their business needs. Each data product can integrate data assets from a variety of sources, including data connectors, projects, and external sites. By combining these diverse data assets, Data Product Hub streamlines data access and derives valuable insights.
  • Data producers can create, publish, and maintain data products for their community. Data Product Hub provides an easy to use platform to communicate with consumers and tailor data products to address all the necessary business needs. This continuously collaboration ensures that data products are accurate, maintain currency, and drive meaningful insights.

Checking whether the service is installed

An administrator must install Data Product Hub.

To check whether the service is installed:

  1. From the navigation menu, select Services > Services catalog.
  2. Search for Data Product Hub.

If the service is installed and ready to use, the tile in the catalog shows Ready to use.

Accessing the service

Data Product Hub Data Product Hub is available from the IBM Data Product Hub experience.
