Adding a global element

Use the outline view of the DFDL schema editor to create a global element.

Before you start:

Create or open a DFDL schema file. See DFDL schema editor for a description of the DFDL schema editor.

In the Outline view, right-click Elements, and then select Add a Global Element.
Type a name for the element.

Next:

Configure the global element; see Editing a DFDL schema file.
