Deploying BAR files with the IIB: Deploy BAR files script package

Use this script package to deploy BAR files to an integration server. You must first clone the script package and add the BAR files to the package.

About this task

To deploy your own BAR files as part of a pattern deployment, you must create a custom script package that is based on the supplied IIB: Deploy Bar Files script package, but with your own BAR files added to the script package.

Procedure

To deploy one or more BAR files to an integration server during deployment of a pattern, complete the following steps.

  1. In the PureApplication® GUI, select Catalog, then Script Packages.
  2. Click the IIB: Deploy BAR files script package.
  3. Clone the script package by selecting the IIB: Deploy Bar Files script package and selecting the clone option Clone Sign.
  4. Provide the name for the new cloned script package and click OK.
  5. In the Script package files section, click the download link and save the file to a temporary folder.
  6. Add the required BAR files to the downloaded compressed file. You can either add the files to the compressed archive directly or extract the file, add the BAR files to the directory, then rearchive the file.
  7. In the Script package files section, click Browse and navigate to the updated compressed archive. Select the file and click Upload.
The Environment section now contains the variable IIB_DEPLOY_SERVER_NAME.
  8. In the Virtual System Patterns list, select the Virtual System Pattern to edit.
  9. Within the patter, click Open.
You can now edit the selected pattern.
  10. Click the Scripts icon in the Pattern editor.
The list of available scripts is displayed.
  11. Locate your custom script package and drag it onto the appropriate virtual machine.
Note: Note: IBM® Integration Bus script packages must always appear after IBM Integration Bus Software Components in a virtual machine.
  12. Select the script package in the Pattern editor to view the script package properties.

You can edit the parameters of the script package in the Pattern editor or when the pattern is deployed, or both. If a parameter is set in the Pattern editor, you can update it when the pattern is deployed, unless the parameter is locked. To lock a parameter in the Pattern editor, click the unlocked padlock Unlock Sign for that parameter. A locked padlock Lock Sign indicates that the property is locked.

  13. Set the IIB_DEPLOY_SERVER_NAME field to the name of the integration server to which you want to deploy the BAR files.
