Customizing SMF

An installation has several ways to customize SMF to meet its needs:

SMF parameters in the SMFPRMxx parmlib member

The SMF parameters are discussed in Using SMFPRMxx parameters and are further described in z/OS MVS Initialization and Tuning Reference.

Installation-written exit routines

SMF installation exits are discussed in Using installation exit routines and are further described in z/OS MVS Installation Exits. (SMF dump program exits are discussed in Using the SMF dump programs.)

Operator commands
