Connectivity Rule: Source Address
Use this panel to enter the Source Address for the routing rule. You may enter the source address information as a single address, as a group of addresses, or select a reusable address group to use for the rule.
Policy-based routing enables the TCP/IP stack to make routing decisions that take into account criteria other than just the destination IP address/subnet. Selecting addresses individually or as groups in this panel allows you to route based on source IP address as well. If the source IP address of an outbound packet matches any of the address information specified on this panel (as well as the criteria entered in the Traffic Descriptor and destination address panels), then that packet will be routed according to the route table information configured for this rule.
Before you begin, decide on the values and settings that you want to specify in the steps below.
Steps:
- Click No - rule matching is not dependent on the source address if you do want the rule to take effect for all source addresses
- Click Yes - Specify the IP address: to specify a single IP address or subnet
- Click Yes - Specify a group of addresses: to enter a group of IP addresses. Then:
- To add an IP address to the list, click Actions > New and enter the address that you want to include in your connectivity rule on the panel that opens.
- To modify an IP address that is already in the list, select the address and click Actions > Modify. You may then make the desired modifications from the panel that opens.
- To delete an entry from the list, select the address from the list and click Actions > Delete.
- Click Yes - Select an address group from the list: to select a reusable address group and select an address group from the list.
You have completed this panel when you have specified in the steps above the times when you want the rule to be active.
