TCP/IP Stack Column

This column can appear in two tables. The first table it appears in contains the names of the fully-qualified TCP/IP stacks where the resource is provisioned. If the provisioned resource is a distributed DVIPA, this column also appears in a second table. When it appears in the second table, it displays the fully-qualified TCP/IP stack names where the distributed DVIPA is configured. The distributed DVIPA can be configured with multiple roles on each listed TCP/IP stack. See Role Column for more information.

The TCP/IP stacks listed in the second table can differ from the TCP/IP stacks listed in the first table. The TCP/IP stacks listed in the first table are the stacks where the server application that uses the IP address can be provisioned and listen on a socket bound to that IP address. When the provisioned resource is a distributed DVIPA, these are called target stacks for the distributed DVIPA. The TCP/IP stacks listed in the second table can also be target stacks, but the TCP/IP stacks listed in this column can additionally include TCP/IP stacks that are only distributing stacks for the distributed DVIPA and do not necessarily serve as target stacks. The Role column indicates the role or roles the distributed DVIPA has on that TCP/IP stack for this distributed DVIPA. The primary and backup distributing stacks are obtained from the workload distribution profile associated with the network resource pool that this distributed DVIPA was provisioned under. The target stacks are obtained from the systems and stacks in the network resource pool this distributed DVIPA was provisioned under.
