DFSMSdfp manages the organization and storage of data in the z/OS® environment. You can use access methods with macro instructions to organize and process a data set or object. Access method services commands manage data sets, volumes, and catalogs. Utilities perform tasks such as copying or moving data. You can use system commands to display and set SMS configuration parameters, DFSMSdfp callable services to write advanced application programs, and installation exits to customize DFSMS.

This chapter provides an overview of DFSMSdfp access methods, commands, utilities, installation exits, and callable services.
