Set up (as discussed in Obtaining empty tapes from scratch pools) a global scratch pool from which the tape library can obtain scratch tapes. Global scratch pools are recommended for SMS-managed tape libraries because global scratch pools enable maximum automation and use of a tape management product (for example, DFSMSrmm). Using a global scratch pool will also facilitate assigning more than one tape library to a storage group.
