Explanation: NORETENTIONLIMIT is an optional
subparameter of SELECT specifying a list of each dump volume that
is part of a valid dump copy and has no retention date. These dump
volumes contain dump copies that DFSMShsm invalidates automatically
only if the dump copy is the 100th generation and a new dump is performed.
The following information is listed for each dump volume:
- Source volume serial number
- Dump volume serial number
- Unit type
- Dump class
Defaults: None.
Note: - If DUMPCLASS(class) is also specified in the set of SELECT
options, only dump volumes assigned to the specified class are
listed.
- The NORETENTIONLIMIT subparameter of SELECT is relevant only when volser is not specified with the DUMPVOLUME parameter. The NORETENTIONLIMIT
subparameter can be used in combination with the subparameters AVAILABLE,
DUMPCLASS, EXPIRED, UNAVAILABLE, or UNEXPIRED to get a list of volumes
that satisfy all the selection criteria.
