Explanation
FREQUENCY is an optional parameter specifying the number of days
that must have elapsed since the last time DFSMShsm backed up a data
set before DFSMShsm will back up the data set again.
The following parameter is an optional parameter of the FREQUENCY
parameter:
- days
- A decimal number from 0 to 999. A value of 0 allows DFSMShsm
to back up data sets every time volume backup runs unless you use
the FREQUENCY parameter of the ALTERDS or BACKVOL command to change
the frequency.
SMS relationship
Parameter does not apply to SMS-managed DASD volumes or data sets.
DFSMShsm default
If you do not specify FREQUENCY parameter on any SETSYS command,
the DFSMShsm default is zero.
Usage notes: - The FREQUENCY parameter only applies to data sets that have been
backed up.
