Specifying line operators

After you have created a data set list and tailored it to fit your needs, you can use ISMF to perform DFSMShsm tasks. Using line operators, you can perform these tasks against entries in your list. For a list of DFSMShsm line operators, see DFSMShsm and ISMF line operator reference summary.

Line operators work with the individual entries in a list. You enter line operators in the line operator field, column (1), next to the entry you want to affect. For example, to delete backup versions of data sets, enter the HBDELETE line operator in the line operator field next to the data set you want to delete, as shown in Figure 1.

ISMF displays the HBDELETE entry panel, which allows you to view and change processing options for HBDELETE.
