Using the Printer Inventory Definition Utility (PIDU)

Infoprint Server administrators can use the Printer Inventory Definition Utility (PIDU) to create and update FSS definitions and FSA definitions in the Printer Inventory. In most situations, it is easier to use the Infoprint Server ISPF panels. However, PIDU can be useful for creating and editing a large number of definitions. It is also useful for backing up and restoring the Printer Inventory.

PIDU lets you create, list, display, edit, delete, export, and dump definitions (also called objects) in the Printer Inventory. You can run the z/OS® UNIX pidu command from the z/OS UNIX command line or as a batch program.
