In the Stocked Tools application, you can manage the tools,
change the status of tools, issue tools, transfer tools, view availability,
and create units of measurement.
Managing stocked tools
You can add bins and locations to stocked tools, adjust balances, adjust physical counts, associate vendors, manage vendor lists, and create spare parts lists.
Changing the status of stocked tools
Tool statuses allow you to implement and enforce policies related to record creation and modification. You can change the status of a tool record in the Stocked Tools application.
Issuing stocked tools
You can specify tools on job plans and work orders to indicate which tools are needed to perform a task. In the Stocked Tools application, you can issue tools to those work orders to indicate that the tools are dispatched for use with the job.
Transferring stocked tools
You can transfer stocked tools from one storeroom to another, including cross-site transfers within an organization if you have access to those storerooms. When you transfer a tool, the From Storeroom field defaults to the current storeroom for the stocked tool you are viewing.
Viewing availability of stocked tools
You use the Stocked Tools application to view how many stocked tools are available by location or lot, exist on purchasing requests and order, and are reserved. You can also view the availability of any alternate tools.
Creating units of measure
You can create a unit of measure to describe the quantity used to measure an item, tool, or a service. You use a unit of measure to measure the items and services that you order, issue, and transfer in the asset management system. Examples of units of measure include EACH, CASE, IN (inches), and ROLL.
Creating conversion factors
You can create a conversion factor to define the numeric value or ratio that the asset management system uses to relate one unit of measure to another. The conversion factor is an alternate value that is used to represent a unit of measure. You can use this alternate value to define an item order or transfer quantity and storeroom balance.
