Solution statuses

The status of a solution record determines the actions that can be performed on it. The status also determines the users and applications the solution record is available to.

The following status markers are available for use with solution records:

Draft
Indicates a new solution record. Draft solutions are unavailable to users in other applications, including the self-service Search Solutions application. Use this status when you are still in the process of creating or finalizing the information in the solution record.
Active
Indicates that the solution record has been reviewed and approved. Active solutions are available for use in the Condition Reports (Nuc), Problems, and Incidents applications. To make an Active solution available to self-service users in the Search Solutions application, you must select Self-Service Access on the Solution tab.
Inactive
Allows an administrator to view the solution record. Inactive solutions are unavailable to users in other applications, including the self-service Search Solutions application. Use this status for solutions that you are currently not using or want to keep for reference purposes.

You can change the status of a solution record by using the Change Status action.
