Setting up the workflows

Before you use the workflows in Maximo® for Nuclear Power, you must generate site units, populate person groups, and then validate, enable, and activate the primary processes.

About this task

The predefined workflows model primary and secondary processes. A secondary process is a subprocess of the primary process with which it is linked. Only the primary processes need to be validated, enabled, and activated. Secondary processes are validated and enabled during product installation, and they are automatically activated when the associated primary process is made active.

  • The condition report workflow includes the following primary processes: PLUSCASPOE, PLUSCAWO, PLUSCASR
  • The service request workflow includes the following primary processes: PLUSSPOE, PLUSWO.

Procedure

  1. Generate site units by segregating data that belongs at the unit level and at the site level. Incorporate the segregated data into the associated workflows.
    1. Add a PLUSUNIT attribute to the PERSONGROUPTEAM table.
    2. Add a unit (PLUSUNIT attribute) data field to the Person Groups application.
    3. Identify the person records in the person groups that have the appropriate unit ID.
    4. Revise the database relationships to use the data field, for example, PERSONGROUP = 'PLUSUNCD' and USEFORSITE = :ASSETSITEID and PLUSUNIT = :PLUSUNIT.
  2. Populate the person groups that are used by the workflows. In each person group, replace the placeholder record, PLUSPERSON, with the person records of users who have responsibilities that correspond to the relevant workflow roles.
  3. Validate, enable, and activate the primary processes in the workflow.
