Workflow overview

The workflows in Maximo® for Nuclear Power are based on the Standard Nuclear Performance Model (SNPM). The SNPM is an industry standard that defines nuclear processes and provides a methodology for measuring and benchmarking performance within and across facilities.

The workflows provide support for processes in the areas of work management, equipment reliability, materials and services, configuration management, and performance improvement. The following SNPM documents define these processes:

AP-928 Work Management
Addresses emergency, minor, and planned maintenance.
AP-913 Equipment Reliability
Addresses condition report and continuous improvement requirements.
AP-908 Materials and Services
Addresses tasks that belong to the procurement engineer, including item creation, revision, and retirement.
AP-929 Configuration Management
Addresses engineering configuration management for nuclear facilities.
INPO 05-005 Performance Improvement
Addresses plant performance.

Single point of entry

The SNPM uses the concept of a single point of entry (SPOE) to organize nuclear business processes. This concept integrates related processes into a workflow that has a single point of entry. All issues and requests are entered into, and managed through, the SPOE workflow.

In Maximo for Nuclear Power, related processes are organized into a workflow that uses the condition report record type as a single point of entry. An alternative workflow that uses the service request as a single point of entry is also available.

Key performance indicators

The workflows are associated with a number of predefined key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs organize process results and other data into categories that can be used for objective feedback and benchmarking.

Start Centers

The workflows are associated with a number of predefined Start Centers. Each Start Center is associated with a particular workflow role and a portlet that is configured for the relevant applications. When a user logs in, the Start Center that is associated with the workflow role for his user is displayed, providing access to the workflow tasks that are assigned currently to him.

You can adapt the predefined workflows, KPIs, and Start Centers to suit the needs of your business.
