When network installation files are available, users can install Sametime®
Connect from a web browser on a Mac OS X client.
Procedure
Instruct users to download and install Sametime Connect by completing the following
steps.
- If you share a computer and another user already installed the Connect client, remove temporary
files left by the previous installation:
- Log on the computer as the root user.
- Run the following command to remove the temporary
files:
rm -rf /tmp/deploy /tmp/sametime-connect.mpkg.zip /tmp/setupmac.sh
- Install the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) V1.8 or later.
- Open a web browser and navigate to the address provided by your Sametime
administrator.
- Click Download Sametime Connect 9.0.1 Client to display the "Welcome to
the IBM®
Sametime Connect 9 Client Download Site" page.
- Click Install Now to begin the download and installation process.
- Instruct users to download and install Sametime Connect by completing the following
steps::
After all files have been downloaded, the client installer will start. Follow the instructions in
the installer and enter the required information to complete the installation.
- When the installation completes, start the Sametime Connect client.
By default, the Connect client is installed in the Applications folder on Mac HD.
