Merging structured information assets

Use the Security Command and Control Center (SC3) component of IBM Data Risk Manager for merging multiple structured information assets that are exported to dashboard into a single information asset. Asset merging enables to you easily and quickly manage and view data according to your business needs. You can then view the merged information asset on IBM Data Risk Manager Dashboard for further analysis and actions.

Procedure

  1. Log on to IBM Data Risk Manager Application Suite (https://<IDRM-Server-IP-Address>:8443/albatross/a3suite) with administrator privileges.
  2. Click the menu icon Menu icon.
  3. Select a program in which you want to map taxonomy.
  4. Go to Security Command and Control Center > Taxonomy > Information Assets > Structured.
  5. Click Merge Assets. The Merge Assets window is displayed.
  6. Under Information Assets, select the assets for merging.
  7. Under Merge Destination, specify a name for the merged asset in the Name field.

    If you select an existing asset name, you cannot change any of the taxonomy attributes. If you specify a new name, you can modify the attributes.

    Run the following steps to specify a new name.
    1. Click the Name drop-down list.
    2. In the Enter Asset Name field, specify a name for the asset.
    3. To save the details, click the add icon Add icon.
  8. Assign necessary taxonomy attributes based on your needs.
  9. Click Merge . The merged asset is displayed on the Security Command and Control Center > Taxonomy > Information Assets > Structured page.

    If you merge assets of different data sources, you can view sets from all the assets under Applied Set based on number of associated applications, which are referenced by context data.
