Rack View in the Resources Dashboard

In the Resources Dashboard, select the Rack View tab to find more information on your cluster installation including access to the Chassis Management Console.

Your cluster installation is represented by the Rack View tab in the Resources Dashboard. Racks can be viewed in three ways: Normal, Condensed, or Heatmap view. The Rack View also includes two data or status indicators for each node, which are controlled by two selectable pull downs, containing monitoring metrics and hardware status. The indicators show as green, yellow, red, or gray depending on the status and the availability of the data. Hovering over the indicator gives more detailed information about the monitoring metric or status, if available.

All monitoring metrics (except Hardware Status) can be configured in the System & Settings > Page Settings page.

Rack number is sorted alphabetically in Rack View. If a certain order is required, the rackname (Rack ID) can be chosen carefully. For example, use Rack01, Rack02, ... Rack30, instead of Rack1, Rack2, etc.

By default, the Rack View is sorted in descending order, for example: 42, 41, 40,.....03, 02, 01. To update the Rack View to ascending order, open the pmc.conf file in the /opt/pcm/web-portal/gui/conf/pmc.conf directory and add the ReverseSlotsOrder parameter and set it to false. In a high availability environment, the pmc.conf file, is in the shared location at /shared_pcm/opt/pcm/web-portal/gui/conf/pmc.conf.

Note: In the Rack View only the first two nodes per unit are displayed. Additional unit nodes are not displayed.

Nodes that have a critical alert are displayed in the Rack View. Under Location Unspecified in the Rack View, nodes that are highlighted are currently issuing a critical alert.
