Configuring transfer inventory

To configure transfer inventory, enable appropriate resource permissions and set up bar code types, modification types, pipelines, and print service.

Applications Manager

  • Resource permissions
    Enable the following resource permissions for transfer order by location:
    • Transfer inventory - ISF000010
    • Initiate transfer inventory by location - ISF000011
    Enable the following resource permissions for transfer order by product:
    • Transfer inventory - ISF000010
    • Initiate transfer inventory by product - ISF000012

  • Barcode types

    Enable the following bar code type for transfer order by location:

    Location bar code type. This bar code type is used to lookup locations from where products are added to a transfer order. The bar code validation source is SIM location.

    Enable the following bar code types for transfer order by product:
    • Location bar code type. This bar code type is used to scan locations from where products are added to a transfer order. The bar code validation source is SIM location.
    • Item bar code type. This bar code type is used to scan non-serialized and serialized products in the transfer inventory portlet. The bar code validation sources are Item and SIM Serial.
    • Store Scan Item or Location bar code type. This bar code type is used to scan locations and products to transfer inventory.
    Note: By default, bar code types are provided for the Default organization. When you set up a new enterprise, create these bar code types again or copy it from the Default organization. For more information, see Configuring bar codes.
  • Modification type
    • Allow the Add Note modification type at the Order level for the Draft Order Created and Created status.
    • Allow the Cancel modification type at the Line and Order level for Draft Order Created and Created.
    • Allow the Change Other Attributes modification type at the Line and Order level for Draft Order Created and Created statuses.
    • Allow the Change Ship To modification type at the Line level for Draft Order Created status.

  • Pipelines
    Configure the following pipelines for transfer order by location:
    • Configure the following pipelines for transfer orders that are created in Sterling Store Engagement.
      • Configure a pipeline to reflect the flow that store-initiated transfer orders follow: Create Draft Transfer Order > Confirm Draft Transfer Order > Include Transfer Order In Shipment > Ship Shipment.

      • For transfer order delivery, use the out-of-the-box IBM Sterling Call Center and Store Transfer Order Delivery pipeline.
    • For transfer orders that are created externally, use the out-of-the-box transfer order and shipment pipelines.
    Configure the following pipelines for transfer order by product:
    • Configure the following pipeline to enable the customers to update the Product class as soon as the inventory status is changed to an inventory that cannot be sold.

  • Print service

    The ISFPrintTOSummary print service is implemented to print the transfer order summary. The ISFPrintTOSummary_multiApiInput.xsl.sample and ISFPrintTOSummary_output.xsl.sample templates are stored in the /template/prints/ycd/xsl/ directory and built into the <INSTALL_DIR>/jar/platform/9_5/resources.jar directory. You can continue to use the sample XSL or remove .sample from the file name and customize it as required.

  • Ship node or receiving node

    Ensure that the addresses of the store and distribution center are defined for the ship node and receiving node in Applications Manager. For more information, see Defining an organization's primary information.
