Next-generation platform for IBM Sterling Order Management System

The next-generation platform of the IBM Sterling® Order Management System application is available. The next-generation platform is deployed on IBM Cloud Kubernetes platform. The product capabilities remain the same while there are new features and enhancements made to existing features by using the platform capabilities. These features and enhancements are available only to users on the new platform.

Features available on the next-generation platform

Feature Description
Order Hub
A user interface that you can use to manage your fulfillment network.
  • View contextual data, alerts, and key performance indicators to understand how your network is performing.
  • Modify orders, shipments, inventory, and node settings in real-time.

IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility A cloud service solution that processes inventory supply and demand activity to provide an accurate and real-time global visibility information across various selling channels. Use inventory information to optimize your business operations and enhance the customers’ shopping experiences and prevent inventory stockout and overselling.

Developer toolkit You can download the containerized developer toolkit versions from Self Service for customizing your environments.
  • Download the latest version of the developer toolkit for testing before you implement it in your environment.
  • Download the environment-specific developer toolkit for your environment.

For more information about downloading the containerized developer toolkit versions, see Downloading the containerized developer toolkit on the next-generation platform.

You can use the downloaded toolkit, customize it for your environment, and then upload the customization JAR file in Self Service. You can use the uploaded file to deploy your package. For more information about deploying a package, see Deploying customization on the next-generation platform.

Access to Sterling Order Management System services by using client certificates You can generate client certificates in Self Service and then apply these certificates to the browser for authentication to access Sterling Order Management System. You can generate MQ certificates in Self Service and use them for authentication to access the IBM MQ servers.

You can add outbound certificates for the customization to be able to talk to external systems.

Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) You can use Self Service to export and import Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) from your IBM Sterling Order Management System master configuration to other environments. By exporting CDT from your master configuration to other environments, you will be able to quickly migrate database configurations from the master configuration to the target environments. Agent and integration server configuration You can configure agent and integration servers to be run on a schedule or by using a manual trigger from Self Service.

Queue configuration You can manage your queue configuration for Sterling Order Management System by using the Self Service. For more information about queues, see Updating queues.
Application logs You can view logs directly in OpenSearch. For more information about OpenSearch, see Viewing application log files.
Manage firewall policies You can manage network policies for accessing external systems from your Sterling Order Management System environment by using Self Service. For more information, see Managing firewall policies.
Download Applications Manager client You can download the Applications Manager client from Self Service. For more information, see Downloading the Applications Manager client.
Download and upload customizations You can download customizations or upload your own customizations in Self Service. For more information, see Managing processes.
Command-line interface You can use the command-line interface in Self Service to automate deployments in a continuous integration continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. For more information, see Command-line interface.
