Define a customer entitlement without a customer

A customer entitlement can be defined without a customer so that the items in the customer entitlement are not accessed by anyone.

You can define a customer entitlement without a customer from the Customer Entitlement screen.

To define a customer entitlement without a customer:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Customer Entitlement Search screen. To navigate to the Customer Entitlement Search screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an Item Administrator.
    2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
    3. From the Products home page, click Find Entitlement from the Catalog dashlet.

      The Customer Entitlement Search screen is displayed.

  2. Enter the search criteria, and click Search to view a list of all the available entitlements. Alternatively, use either the Basic Search or the Advanced Search option to narrow down the list of entitlements displayed.
  3. The search results are displayed in the Entitlement panel. Click the Entitlement ID hyperlink corresponding to the entitlement from which you want to dissociate a generic customer group. Alternatively, double-click the row containing the corresponding Entitlement ID.
  4. The Entitlement Details screen is displayed. Click the Customers Assignments tab.
  5. In the Customer Assignments area, click the Generic Assignments tab.
  6. In the Generic Assignments area that is displayed, select the This entitlement is not assigned to any customer radio button. This radio button is selected by default when a customer entitlement rule is created.
  7. In the Customer Entitlement screen, click Save.

    The corresponding customer entitlement is defined without a customer.
