Activate a search index

After a new index build is completed, you can activate it so that it can be used when item searches are performed.

About this task

Note: Only one index file can be active at a time for a catalog organization and a subcatalog organization.

You can activate the index from the Item Catalog Index List screen after running a new or incremental search index build.

To activate a search index file:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Item Catalog Index List screen. To navigate to the Item Catalog Index List screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an Item Administrator.
    2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
    3. From the Products home page, click Manage Catalog Indexes from the Catalog dashlet.

      The Item Catalog Index screen is displayed.

  2. Select the check box adjacent the corresponding index you want to activate.
  3. Click Activate. This button is enabled only if you have selected a record that is in the Complete status.
    Note: When you activate an index, the status of the index is displayed as Active.

    The search index is activated.
