Importing the cacert.pem certificate into the browser when HTTPS is enabled

About this task

HTTPS is enabled by default in Platform Application Center. When HTTPS is enabled, Platform Application Center generates the certificate $GUI_CONFDIR/https/cacert.pem. You need to import this certificate into your browser to use Platform Application Center.

Procedure

  1. Get the certificate that was generated when HTTPS was enabled $GUI_CONFDIR/https/cacert.pem and copy it to your client computer.
  2. Import the certificate into your browser.

    Mozilla Firefox:

    1. Select Tools > Options > Advanced.
    2. Select Certificates, then click the View Certificates button.

      The Authorities tab is displayed in Certificate Manager.

    3. Click Import and select the cacert.pem file from Platform Application Center.
    4. When a dialog is displayed, ensure that the following option is checked: Trust this CA to identify websites.
    5. Click OK.

      The Platform Application Center CA root certificate is now visible under Platform > Platform Root CA.

    Internet Explorer:

    1. Select Tools > Internet Options.
    2. Select the Content tab, then click the Certificates button.

      The Certificates dialog is displayed.

    3. Select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
    4. Click Import and select the cacert.pem Platform Application Center file.
    5. When prompted with: You are about to install a certificate from a certification authority (CA) claiming to represent: Platform Root CA, click Yes.
