Generating pairing tokens
Generating tokens is a secure way to establish trusted communication between different components of your integration landscape, especially for communication between cloud-based services or self-managed runtimes and on-premises Integration Servers.
Procedure
-
Click . All available tokens are listed.
- Click Add New Token. The Add New Token dialog is displayed.
- From the Client drop-down menu, select a self-managed runtime for which the token must be generated. Select Hybrid connectivity if you want to generate a token to establish a hybrid connection between Integration Servers with cloud-based services.
- From the Expiry Time drop-down menu, select the number of days for which the token is valid. The default value is 30 days.
- Click Generate Token. The token is generated and listed.
- Copy the access token and save it in your local system for future reference.
- Click Close to exit the Add New Token
dialog. The Token Management page is displayed and the newly added access token is listed.
Results
You generated a pairing token successfully. Key points to remember when using pairing tokens are as follows.
- You can create multiple pairing tokens for using with a single self-managed runtime.
- Do not delete any of the pairing tokens that are associated with a self-managed runtime. Otherwise, you cannot run the services or workflows that use the self-managed runtime. If you delete the pairing token, then the error message is displayed stating that the self-managed runtime is not available.
- You cannot delete tokens associated with Cloud Designtime or Cloud Runtime.
What to do next
Use the generated tokens to add new self-managed runtime instances or establish hybrid connectivity.
