Asset items

When you expand an asset element in the Asset List, you see the different items that the asset contains.

The items that are displayed depend upon the asset element that you are viewing.

Note: To view an asset item, hover your cursor over the asset item and then click the item. The Asset List view displays the asset item. At the top of the view there is a breadcrumb path that brings you back to your prior view. Click the asset name to launch the Asset List view.

The following table describes the asset items that can be displayed.

Asset element Asset items Notes
Process App Settings The Process App Settings asset element displays settings and asset items unique to the process application. Asset items that are displayed include:
  • Environment variables
  • CSS overrides
  • Coach designer XSL overrides
  • Business Monitor Tracking
  • Toolkits
Settings that are displayed for each asset item are:
  • Default
  • Test
  • Stage
  • Production
Business Process Definitions The Business Process Definitions (BPD) asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Process flow diagram
  • Variables (with check boxes for input/output/private)
  • Process description from the overview properties tab
  • Work Schedule
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
The process diagram defaults to a full view. The details are located in a pane to the right of the diagram and are active links. You can use the active links to drill further into details of the Business Process Definitions asset element.
You can also click each subprocess represented in the process diagram to view the details of the subprocess.
Note: A KPI is a performance indicator that provides additional data to the performance of your BPD. A KPI can indicate data such as total run time.
Human Services The Human Services asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Variables
  • Type
  • Input and output check boxes
The Human Service diagram defaults to a full view. The details are located in a pane to the right of the diagram and are active links. You can use the active links to drill further into the details of the Human Service asset element.
Integration Services The Integration Services asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Variables
  • Type
  • Input and output check boxes

Integration services also include web service and Java integration elements.

The Integration Service diagram defaults to a full view. The details are located in a pane to the right of the diagram and are active links. You can use the active links to drill further into the details of the Integration Service asset element.
Advanced Integration Services The Advanced Integration Services element is available only if you are using the Advanced Edition. This asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Common including:
    • Name (of the service)
    • Modified (by role and date)
    • Documentation (a description of the service)
    • Emulate Service (an enable check box to select emulation)
  • Advanced Integration Service including:
    • Module name (the module the service resides in)
    • Export name (the name of the export)
    • Operation name (the type of operation the service invokes)
    • Can be used with service (providing a yes or no response)
  • Parameters (lists the variables, inputs, outputs, and errors in the service)
  • Parameter Details including:
    • Name (name of the parameter)
    • Documentation (a description of the parameter)
    • Is List (a check box that defines the parameter as a list)
    • Variable Type (defining the type of variable that is implemented)

Integration services also include BPEL and Java integration elements.

The Advanced Integration Service diagram defaults to a full view. The details are located in a pane to the right of the diagram and are active links. You can use the active links to drill further into the details of the Advanced Integration Service asset element.
Service Level Agreement The Service Level Agreement (SLA) element displays the following asset items:
  • Details. This defines the target type.
  • Trigger: This defines the parameters that trigger an SLA event.
  • Condition: This defines the parameters of the conditions that have to occur before an SLA violation event is triggered.
  • Consequence: This defines the actions that occur as a result of an SLA violation event.
  • Exposing: This defines the role group that can view the SLA violation event.
The details listed in the Service Level Agreement element contain active links. You can use the active links to drill further into the details of the Service Level Agreement asset element.
Timing Intervals The Timing Intervals element displays the start and end points of the selected asset, and shows the following items:
  • Start Points (the beginning point of the timing interval)
  • End Points (the end point of the timing interval)
The start point and end point both display:
  • Process or service controlled by the timing interval
  • Tracking point where the timing interval begins and ends
  • Tracking group where the tracking point is located
The details listed in the Timing Intervals element contain active links. You can use the active links to drill further into details of the Timing Intervals asset element.
Business Objects The Business Objects asset element consists of the process application business data and displays the following asset items:
  • Parameter
  • Type
  • Description
The Business Objects asset list shows the parameters within the business object. If a parameter is a Business Object Definition, the parameter is an active link. You can use the active link to drill further into the details of Business Objects asset element.
Participant Groups The Participant Group asset element defines the members and groups that are included in the process application. A Participant Group is defined in two different ways:
  • As a simple list of member users and groups.
  • As an expression that generates a list of users and groups based on attributes.
The Participant Groups asset items view shows either the simple list or the expression, depending on which asset item is selected.
External Activities The External Activities asset element defines activities that are processed by systems external to IBM Business Process Manager. This asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Custom Attributes that define a name and value.
  • Input Parameters that define the parameter, type and description of the input parameter.
  • Output Parameters that define the parameter, type and description of the output parameters.
The input and output parameter types display as active links. You can use the active links to drill further into the parameter type to view the number of parameters, and the type of each parameter contained in the Input and Output Parameters asset items.
Performance Tracking

The Performance Tracking consists of items that measure the effectiveness of your process application and displays the following asset items:
  • Timing intervals
  • Tracking groups
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Service Level Agreements
The Performance Tracking element asset items list the name, type and description of each parameter in each tracking item.
Undercover Agents An undercover agent (UCA) calls a service as a response to a message event or a content event in a BPD. The Undercover Agents asset element displays the following asset items:
  • Attached Service
  • Associated Queue
  • Event Message
  • Enabled (true or false)
The Attached Service asset item is an active link. You can use this active link to drill further into the asset item to view the details of the specified attached service.
Web Services The Web Services asset element defines an outbound web service that is integrated to the process application. The web service can consist of a number of integration services that are combined into a single Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) file. The Web Service asset element displays the following asset items:
  • The WSDL (represented as a filename such as MySoapWS)
  • The web service
The Web Services asset items display the following parameters:
  • Operation Name
  • Associated Service
  • Description
The Associated Services parameter displays as an active link. You can use this active link to drill further into the asset item to view the details of the specified associated service.
