Archiving and deleting process applications in the Process Center console

If a process application is no longer used, you can archive it. When you archive a process application, it no longer appears in the list of all process applications in the IBM® Process Center console, and you must restore it before you can open it in IBM Process Designer.

Before you begin

To archive a process application, you must have write or administrative access to it.

About this task

When you archive a process application, the authoring data in all its tracks and snapshots including the tip is archived and cannot be used. Instance data is not archived. You cannot run the artifacts, for example, processes and services, of an archived process application.

Procedure

To archive a process application:

  1. Select the Process Apps tab.
  2. In the list of process applications, click the process application that you want to archive.
  3. Click the Manage option.
  4. Click the Archive Process App option.
  5. When prompted, click the Archive button to confirm that you want to archive this process application.

Results

The process application is archived.

To view or restore the archived process application, click the Archived filter in the Process Apps tab.

What to do next

Archiving a process application does not delete it or reclaim its place in the database. Archiving merely marks it so it does not show by default in the Process Center user interface. To delete an archived process application, click the Archived filter in the Process Apps tab. Then, select Delete beside the process application that you want to delete.

Deleting a process application deletes all snapshots and process instances, as well as associated BPEL process instances, business-level applications, and enterprise applications.
