Accessibility in Process Portal

Accessibility features and keyboard navigation help you use the product if you have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision.

Accessibility features

The following list summarizes the accessibility features in Process Portal.

Keyboard navigation

Process Portal uses standard Microsoft Windows navigation keys. For a list of standard keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Windows, see the Keyboard Assistance information from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/keyboard.aspx.
The following keyboard navigation techniques are specific to Process Portal:
List of tasks, dashboards, services, or processes
Attention: The list of tasks on the Work dashboard is accessible only in the List View.

Action Key
Browse the entries in the list. Press Tab.
Go to the first entry in the list. Press Esc.
Skip over a section or group in the list, such as Dashboards. Press Enter to close the section, and then press Tab to move to the next section or grouping.
Attention: JAWS users: The sections might not collapse or expand as you expect. When you press Enter the first time, JAWS goes into forms mode. In this mode, press Enter again to pass control to the coach view. By default, JAWS plays different sounds when it enters and exits forms mode. You can customize the sound in the JAWS settings.
Change the order of the dashboards in the list. Use the up arrow and down arrow keys.
Move between the left, main, and right panes. Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+autofocus_key.
Attention: The key combinations for moving between panes are specific to your environment. To see which combinations are valid, press Ctrl+Alt+Shift or contact your system administrator for more information.
Activate the Learn more link in the hover help to find related information by using a search filter. Press the space bar.
Diagram view
The diagram supports both tree-style navigation and graph-style navigation when you use the Tab key. You can switch between the two types of navigation. Graph traversal is controlled by the order in which the diagram is constructed.

Go to the first swimlane. Press Tab, and then press the down arrow key.
Toggle between the tree-style navigation and the graph-style navigation that uses links. Press F8.
Clear the focus and all elements in the current selection. Press Esc.
Traverse the diagram. Use the arrow keys to traverse the diagram in accordance with the selected navigation style. For more information about the use of the arrow keys, refer to the table for the corresponding navigation style in Changing current focus from the keyboard.
Zoom in on the diagram. Press Tab until you get to the slider, and then use the left arrow and right arrow keys to zoom in and out.
Toggle between a subprocess activity and its parent process. Press Enter to open the subprocess activity.

To return to the parent process, press Esc. This action closes the diagram view, and then you can reopen it.

Traverse the diagram for a subprocess activity. Press F8 twice to turn on tree-style navigation. Use the arrow keys to traverse the nodes in the diagram.

To switch to graph-style navigation, press F8 again. Use the arrow keys to traverse the nodes and links in the diagram.

Leave the Diagram view. Press Esc.
Print the diagram. Press Tab until you get to the Print Diagram button, and then press Enter to open the Print window.
View Instance page
Process Portal includes a ready-to-use page for working with process instances. A section on the upper right of the page summarizes the progress of the instance. If you are a JAWS user, complete the following steps to get the information that is shown on the timeline:
  1. Press Tab until your reach the Stream button.
  2. Press the up arrow key to hear the timeline information.

Interface information

The following list contains interface information that is specific to Process Portal:
  • Customizing display attributes: Process Portal: relies on cascading style sheets to render the user interface correctly. However, the application provides equivalent facilitation if you have reduced vision by using your system display settings, including high-contrast mode. You can also increase the size of Process Portal pages by using your browser zoom feature.
  • Zooming activity details in a Diagram view in Mozilla Firefox: Go to the activity. When the activity details appear, click the window, and then press Ctrl+Plus sign key (+) to zoom in and Ctrl+Minus sign key (-) to zoom out of the diagram.
  • If you use JAWS
    • To complete forms controls: Generally, JAWS automatically changes from the virtual PC cursor mode to forms mode when it encounters forms controls, such as input tags. If a control does not respond to the keyboard, press Insert+Z to toggle the virtual PC cursor mode.
    • Work dashboard: JAWS cannot read the Table View. Use the List View instead.
    • Saved searches: To hear the items in the drop-down lists in the Filter Criteria window, press F4.

Accessibility on iOS devices

The following accessibility considerations are specific to Process Portal on iOS devices:
  • Dashboards list: You cannot use the keyboard to change the order of the dashboards in the list in VoiceOver. To move an item, double-tap on it, and on the second tap drag the item to the new position in the list.
  • The Process Performance dashboard, Team Performance dashboard, and the Gantt chart are not accessible.
