IBM BPM version 8570 cumulative fix 2017.03Editing artifacts in IBM® Process Designer

When you work in the desktop Process Designer, you must explicitly save your changes. When you work in the web Process Designer, you have the option to save your change as you make them.

In the desktop Process Designer your changes are not saved until you click Save Save icon or press Ctrl+S. An asterisk (*) beside the name of the artifact that you are editing indicates that there are unsaved changes. If you close your editor without saving, your changes are lost.
Note: The desktop Process Designer is deprecated.

If you are working in the web Process Designer, the way that your changes are saved depends on how web Process Designer is configured. If web Process Designer is configured to use the explicit save option, your changes are not saved until you click Save (similar to the desktop Process Designer). If web Process Designer is configured to save your changes automatically, every change that you make is saved as you make it. When you close an editor or the browser crashes, your changes are preserved. Artifacts that you have changed are marked by an icon Icon that indicates an artifact is changed.. When you are done making your changes, click Finish Editing Finish Editing icon so that the artifacts become available to other users for editing.

To configure how your changes are saved in Process Designer, see Setting the save mode in Process Designer.
