Native HA CRR switchover and failover

A Native HA Cross-Region Replication (CRR) configuration enables you to switch the running of a queue manager to a different region.

You can use a Native HA CRR configuration to provide a disaster recovery solution. If some disaster occurs at your live site, you can perform a failover and continue running the queue manager at the recovery site. In this situation, you cannot guarantee that the recovery logs are synchronized when the failover occurs, so there might be some loss of data. Similarly, when the failed site is restored, you might have two live instances of the queue manager and so might accrue some partitioned (split-brain) data.

You can use a Native HA CRR configuration to enable you to provide continuity while performing maintenance or testing. In this circumstance, the switchover is controlled in a way that no data loss occurs. Similarly, when you switch back there is no partitioned data to resolve.
