Debugging components in the IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere

The IBM® Rational® Application Developer for WebSphere® Software product includes debugging functionality that is built on the Eclipse workbench. Refer to the IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software documentation for information about its debug components.

To learn more about the debug components, launch IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software, select Help > Help Contents and choose the Developing > Debugging applications bookshelf entries.

IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software includes the following components:
WebSphere Application Server debug adapter
Use to debug web objects that are running on WebSphere Application Server and that you launched in a browser. These objects include enterprise beans, JavaServer Pages files, and servlets.
JavaScript debug adapter
Use for server-side JavaScript debugging.
Compiled language debugger
Use to detect and diagnose errors in compiled-language applications.
Java development tools (JDT) debugger
Use to debug Java™ code.

All the debug components in IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software can be used for debugging locally and for remote debugging.
