Adding a connection in IBM Db2 Graph

Before you can run a query, you need to add a connection to your database. Whenever you restart Db2 Graph, it loads your existing connections and discovers any existing graph sets.

Before you begin

Attention: With the release of Db2 11.5.9, Db2 Graph is discontinued. You can still run Db2 Graph as a standalone application with Db2 11.5.6 through 11.5.8.
The Db2 user connecting to Db2 Graph requires certain permissions. For further information, see Required Db2 privileges for IBM Db2 Graph users.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Db2 Graph user interface and enter the password provided by your Graph administrator.
  2. Click New connection to begin adding a connection. Fill in the hostname, port, and credentials for the database. Use DEMO as the name of this connection.
If your database connection requires TLS encryption (formerly SSL), click the Port is configured to accept SSL connection check box and paste in the TLS certificate content, if required.
  3. Click Add to create the new connection.

If Db2 Graph is unable to connect to the database or create the model table, you are presented with an error message. You need to address the reported issue before continuing.

You are now ready to add a graph model.
