If you created slices by using the Aggregation Split wizard,
the slice names consist of a prefix, the split level values, and a
suffix. With the Edit Slice Prefix or Suffix dialog, you can edit
the prefix or the suffix of the slice names that you specified in
the Aggregation Split wizard.
For example, in the slice name Sales_Electronics_Dept, 'Sales_' is
the prefix, Electronics is the split level value,
and '_Dept' is the suffix.
- To change the prefix or the suffix for all slice names, select
the prefix or the suffix from the drop-down list and specify a new
prefix or suffix.
- To replace all prefixes or suffixes with the new string, click Replace
all prefixes or Replace all suffixes.
- To remove one or all prefixes or suffixes, leave the appropriate
entry field empty.
The result column names of the slices are changed according to
the slice names.
If you specify a different name for the slice after the Aggregation
Split wizard is executed, the Edit Slice Prefix or Suffix dialog does
not recognize the prefix and the suffix anymore.
