The Microsoft SQL
Server Client Version 2000 ODBC driver is typically installed when
you install Windows. To access Microsoft SQL Server data sources, the
ODBC driver must be installed, registered, and configured.
Procedure
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- Open the Administrative Tools folder.
- Double-click Data Sources (ODBC) to
open the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
- Click the Drivers tab and locate
the SQL Server entry in the list of ODBC drivers to confirm that the
driver is installed on your system.
- Click the System DSN tab.
- Click Configure to register the
driver and test the connection to the Microsoft SQL
Server data source. If you are using Microsoft SQL
Server 2000 Personal Edition, you must use the SQL Server Client Network
Utility to add a new SQL Server ODBC data source to your ODBC System
DSN list.
For specific details on how to install and
configure the driver, see your installation documentation that is
provided with the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC
driver.
