Required maintenance for Db2 12 installation or migration
In addition to ensuring that you have required hardware and software products installed, you must ensure that required service changes for Db2 12 have been applied.
FIXCATs for migrating to Db2 12
To help you identify the required service, z/OS® provides enhanced HOLDDATA. Enhanced HOLDDATA categories (FIXCATs) provide a simplified, automated method of identifying and applying missing PTFs that are required for installation or migration or to support specific product functions. For installation and migration to Db2 12, use the following FIXCATs:

You can use this automated process instead of manually reviewing Preventive Service Planning (PSP) buckets, identifying service that is already installed, and applying missing PTFs.
