Installing Reporting Services

Install Reporting Services in Jazz™ for Service Management to start working with your reports. You can install Reporting Services by using different installation technologies and installation modes.

Note:

Some antivirus software can interfere with the Jazz for Service Management installation process. Before you install Jazz for Service Management, ensure that you disable the antivirus software and restart the target machine.

Reporting Services dependencies

Reporting Services has dependencies on the following components:

IBM® DB2® to manage the IBM Cognos® Content Store
IBM WebSphere® Application Server, Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere.

Installation technologies

Jazz for Service Management provides different installation technologies to install Reporting Services and supporting middleware as follows:

Launchpad–Use the launchpad custom workflow or launchpad Tools > Installation Manager panel to install Reporting Services and supporting middleware. You can also use launchpad full installation to install all Jazz for Service Management integration services and supporting middleware on a single server.
Note: To run the launchpad, you must have a supported browser that is installed on the target machine. If you do not have a browser, run Installation Manager in GUI or silent mode.
IBM Installation Manager– You can install Reporting Services using Installation Manager, which enables to create a new Cognos Content store as well use an existing Cognos content store using IM panels.
Note: To run in GUI mode on UNIX systems, Installation Manager requires a set of libraries for the operating system that is installed on the target machine.

Procedure

Review your target environments to ensure that they meet the hardware and software requirements for installing Reporting Services. See Hardware and software requirements.
Choose your preferred topology. See Choosing your topology and supporting components.
On each server in your topology, prepare your environment, for example, run Prerequisite Scanner or install Installation Manager. The tasks to prepare your environment is dependent on the chosen topology and installation mode. See the Before you begin sections of the relevant installing tasks to understand which preparation tasks to complete.
Install Reporting Services and supporting components on one or two servers.
- Single server installations
- Multiple server installations
Optional: Install Dashboard Application Services Hub and integrate with Reporting Services, if Dashboard Application Services Hub is not already installed.
1. Install Dashboard Application Services Hub.
2. Integrate Dashboard Application Services Hub and Tivoli Common Reporting. See Integrating with Dashboard Application Services Hub.
Optional: Install Administration Services and Administration Services UI, if Dashboard Application Services Hub is installed.
1. Install Administration Services and Administration Services UI.
2. Deploy Reporting Services task bundle. See Installing the task bundle for Reporting Services.
Optional: IBM Cognos mobile is included by default.
Optional: On Windows systems only, install Framework Manager to model business data views of your data. See Installing Framework Manager.
