Deprecated functions and replacements

Several functions are deprecated in this IBM® Cloud Pak System release. The deprecated functions are still supported for compatibility with an earlier version. However, they are no longer enhanced and must not be used for new deployments or implementations.

As the deprecated feature is fully supported only until the end of support date, customers must make plans to move to the suggested replacements or an alternate feature before the end of support date.

Table 1. Deprecated functions and suggested replacements

Host Management with Goferd and Katello Agent Use Remote execution as a replacement for Host management with Goferd and Katello Agent. For more information, see Host Management Without Goferd and Katello Agent.
Note: The Katello agent package and the goferd service are not installed by default. You must manage virtual machines through a remote execution.
