Installing ITXA V10.0 on the Windows operating system

Use this procedure to install the ITXA V10.0 on any supported Windows platform.

IBM® Installation Manager screen information might vary, depending upon the version that you use. This installation requires IBM Installation Manager V8 or higher, 64 bit.

If IBM Installation Manager is installed on your machine, skip steps 1 and 2.

Remember: If you are using ITX with ITXA, install ITX before ITXA to avoid an error.

First, download the installation files for the IBM Installation Manager and install it.

  1. Download IBM Installation Manager installation kit file for your operation system from the IBM Installation Manager support page, http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27025142#1.8.
  2. Extract files from the compressed file to a target directory. Click Install or run the install.exe file, accepting the default options during installation.

    If you have an existing installation of IBM Installation Manager, your version is verified or, if necessary, you are prompted to upgrade.

    The IBM Installation Manager is installed at c:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Installation Manager\eclipse.

  3. Download the following compressed files for installation from IBM Passport Advantage®.
    where
    os
    Any supported operating system. For packs, the value is any.
    arch
    Any supported architecture. For packs, the value is any.

  4. Extract the ITXA components and your pack files.
  5. Start the IBM Installation Manager and add the installation files as repositories:
    1. Click File > Preferences > Repositories > Add Repository.
    2. Browse to the appropriate repository.config file and click OK.

      Example for the SPE components: C:\Users\ADMIN\Downloads\specc_date_time\specc\repository.config

    3. Repeat for the packs, selecting the repository.config file for each.
      • Example for the Pack for Healthcare Payer: Add C:\download_path\spepkhcp_date_time\spepkhcp\repository.config
      • Example for the Pack for Supply Chain EDI: Add C:\download_path\spepksce_date_time\spepksce\repository.config
      • C:\download_path\spepkfsp_date_time\spepkfsp\repository.config
  6. Install the ITXA components by clicking Install and selecting the appropriate version.
    Restriction: Install ITXA first. An error occurs if you attempt to install ITXA and packs at the same time, or if you install the packs before ITXA.
  7. Follow the directions in the ITXA installation wizard.
    1. Accept the license agreement.
    2. Choose a shared resources directory to use.
    3. Select Create a new package group and set the installation directory to the location where you want to install SPE.
    4. Select translation.
    5. Select the features that you want to install.
    6. Complete the General Settings, which include customer information, the Start menu location, and the program folder for installation.
    7. Review the summary and click Install. Verify that the package was installed and click Finish.

    Installation logs are available at C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs.

  8. Install the pack components:
    1. Click Install and select your pack or packs and the features that you want to install.
    2. Follow the wizard directions to install and verify.
    Notes:
    • Pack files can be installed sequentially or together.
    • Use the existing package group (default).
  9. Exit from the IBM Installation Manager.
  10. Update the database configuration to use your preferred database.

    By default, the database settings use the Derby database. To use a different database, manually modify SPE_install_dir/dbprops.cfg. See Database configuration parameters for non-secure database connection (Non-SSL)

  11. If you want to run Sterling B2B Integrator maps on this system, run the following executable file to install the Sterling B2B Integrator Map Editor:

    SPE_install_dir\etc\sb2b\MapEditorInstall.exe

    Follow the prompts and the Sterling B2B Integrator Map Editor is installed.

  12. Start a console session from the Start menu:

    IBM Standards Processing Engine 9.0.0 > SPE Console Window

  13. Start the database that you are going to use for SPE.
    • To start the Derby database from the SPE console, enter spederbystart and press Enter.
    • To start the Derby database from the Start menu, go to Start > IBM Standards Processing Engine > SPE Persistence Database > Start the SPE Persistence Database.
    • To start another supported database such as DB2®, follow the instructions in the documentation for that product.

Start the Trading Partner UI if desired to verify installation of core components, then install the packs to use.
