Create an OBDC DSN to use EDI standards

Before you create a map from the EDI standards that are installed with SPE, you must create ODBC database source names (DSNs) for the databases associated with those SPE pack standards.

This prerequisite software must be available:
  • A 32-bit ODBC data source administrator. Example location for the database that is installed with the Windows 7 operating system: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
  • SPE Pack for Supply Chain EDI, which installs the database files that are associated with your version of the pack standards. Examples: EDIFACT.mdb and X12Plus.mdb. Default location on an SPE installation is C:\IBM\Standards Processing Engine n.n.n\Supplychain_EDI_vn.n.n\sb2bi
  1. From a Windows command line or from the Search programs and files dialog, run the command odbcad32.exe.
The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog opens.
  2. Create a User DSN or a System DSN by selecting the appropriate tab and clicking Add.
  3. In the driver selection dialog, select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and click Finish.
  4. Enter a data source name and description. In the Database area, click Select.
  5. Browse to the installed location of the .mdb file, select an .mdb database, and click OK.
  6. Repeat for additional databases as needed.
