Creating console integration

Use this information to create the console integration.

About this task

In the earlier releases of Network Performance Insight®, console integration is performed automatically with the installation of Device Dashboard that comes with Tivoli® Network Manager. Starting from V1.3.1, console integration can be performed with the createConsoleIntegration.sh script.

Note: With Interim Fix3;
  • The default.cfg file is no longer used in the commands.
  • The custom.cfg is replaced with dashIntegration.cfg file.

Procedure

Run the createConsoleIntegration.sh script that is available in the <DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH> path, which is /opt/IBM/basecamp/basecamp-installer-tools/dash-integration as follows:
<DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH>/createConsoleIntegration.sh -default=<DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH>/default.cfg
-custom= <DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH>/custom.cfg -dashPassword=<smadmin_password>

<DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH>/createConsoleIntegration.sh
-cfgFile= <DASH_INTEGRATION_PATH>/dashIntegration.cfg -dashPassword=<smadmin_password>
Where, <smadmin_password> is the password that is given during the installation of Jazz® for Service Management.

Results

If the script runs successfully, the console content is available in the navigation bar of the Dashboard Application Services Hub through the Console Integration icon icon.

Log in with npiadmin and netcool credentials and click Console Settings > Console Integrations in the navigation bar to see the Network Performance Insight integration.
