Administering environments and capabilities

As an admin, you can manage your environments and capabilities in IBM® webMethods Hybrid Integration.

Before you begin

You must have an admin role to complete this task. The type of admin role that you have determines which tasks you can perform. For more information about permissions, see Roles.

About this task

You can create different types of environments and customize them for your user groups by enabling specific capabilities and configuration elements within those environments.

Note:
  • The IBM SaaS Console refers to environments as service instances. The first environment in a webMethods Hybrid Integration subscription must be created in the IBM SaaS Console. For more information, see Creating the first instance in the IBM SaaS Console. After the first instance is created, environments can be managed in the webMethods Hybrid Integration UI on the Environment management page.
  • Trial users can have only one environment.
When you create an environment, you can select from the following environment stages:
  • Development
  • Test
  • Production

These stages map to your intended use of the environment in your development lifecycle, enabling your teams to build, test, and deploy integrations in controlled stages, and facilitate seamless automation and reduce risks. By isolating your development, test, and production environments, your teams can manage configurations, security settings, and data flow separately. This structured approach improves collaboration and creates smoother deployment processes.

In these environments, you can then add and remove capabilities to meet the needs of your users. You can add capabilities on the webMethods Hybrid Integration home page and also manage them on the Capabilities tab on the environment details page. For more information, see Adding and managing capabilities.
