Installing Oracle 18c server (64-bit)

Instructions on how to install the Oracle 18c server (64-bit).

To install Oracle 18c server (64-bit), use the scripts that are provided as part of Tivoli® Netcool® Performance Manager.

Oracle deployment guidelines

Use the following guide lines for setting up your oracle binaries during IBM® Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, Version 1.4.5 setup in your cluster.

For a stand-alone Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager 1.4.5 setup, the Oracle binaries must be installed in the following order:
  1. Oracle server
  2. Oracle client 32-bit
  3. Oracle client 64-bit

You need to install the following oracle binaries which depend on the Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager components in your servers.

Refer to the following table for a distributed Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager setup.

Important:

Oracle 18c server, client (32-bit), and client (64-bit) must be installed separately and must have separate ORACLE_HOME directories.

The Oracle 18c home paths must be as follows:
  • Oracle 18c server is to be installed in /opt/oracle/product/18.0.0
  • Oracle client 32-bit is to be installed in /opt/oracle/product/18.0.0-client32
  • Oracle client 64-bit is to be installed in /opt/oracle/product/18.0.0-client
