Wireline component

The Wireline component has two subcomponenets; Core component and Big Data Extension. These components can be installed separately.

Starting from Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, Version 1.4, there is an option to use either IBM DB2 or Oracle as the database support. IBM DB2 support is for Wireline component only.

Core component

The Wireline core component uses a four-tiered architecture that tracks the sources from which different metrics are derived. It then collects those metrics, performs aggregations on them, stores them in a database, and reports the metrics by using a web portal.

Big Data Extension

Big Data Extension provides comprehensive, flexible, and scalable performance data management with visualization and reporting to support complex, multi-vendor, multi-technology networks that is based on Hadoop architecture.
