Configuring security event options

The Network IPS appliance provides the Security Events page that displays attacks and audits, and to configure options for security events.

About this task

A security event is a suspicious action that occurs on a network. A security event triggers a response when it matches an event description in the active security policy. You can edit the security policy to meet the needs of your network.
Note: Settings on the X-Force Virtual Patch page do not apply to security events that are marked as User Overridden on the Security Events page. Set X-Force® settings before your custom security events. To find out what security events are marked User Overridden, group events by User Overridden on the Security Events page.

For information about how to revert the security event policy back to the default version, see Reverting to the default security events policy.
