Update Servers window
Use to add a server to the list of servers that you can access or change information for a server that you can access. You can access this window from the Logon to a Server window by clicking Update Servers.
Available options include:
- Server
- Select the name of the Content Manager OnDemand library server from the drop-down list that you want to change or delete.
- Host Name
- Optionally, enter the TCP/IP host name alias, fully-qualified host name, or IP address or the name of a CD-ROM drive, Network drive, or Hard Drive that you want to use as a server in this entry field. By default, the Host Name entry field contains the same value as the Server entry field. Unless you have a good reason not to, use the Host Name provided by Content Manager OnDemand.
- Port
- Verify the TCP/IP port number. This is the TCP/IP port number that the server program monitors for client program requests. The default value, 0 (zero), means that the system attempts to use the port number of the Content Manager OnDemand service found in the TCP/IP Services file. If the Content Manager OnDemand service is not registered, the system attempts to use port number 1445. If the Content Manager OnDemand service is not registered and you plan to use a port number other than 1445, you must enter a valid port number. The valid range is 0 to 65535. Unless you have a good reason not to, use Port provided by the system.
- Attempt Unified Logon
- For Windows servers, a Windows client will attempt to log on to the server with the Windows logon account username, without displaying the Logon to a Server window. If the system is configured for Unified Logon and the Windows logon account username exists in the Content Manager OnDemand user table, the logon is successful. Otherwise, Content Manager OnDemand displays the Logon to Server window and the user must enter a valid Content Manager OnDemand userid and password. If the server you are adding or updating is not a Windows server, you should clear the Attempt Unified Logon check box.
- Use Secure Sockets Layer
- If you use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), select the Use Secure Sockets Layer check box. SSL is a communication protocol for transmitting private documents via the Internet. Ensure that your server supports SSL before you select the Use Security Sockets Layer check box. If your server does not support SSL, SSL is not used even if you select this check box.
