Publishing WebSphere Commerce Server stores

Before you can install a WebSphere® Commerce Server store, first you need to start the HTTP server.

Procedure

  1. Go to the bin directory of where the IBM® HTTP Server product is installed, for example, /opt/IBM/IBMIHS/bin.
  2. Run the ./apachectl -k start -f /opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer70/instances/mdm_acm/httpconf/httpd.conf command.
  3. To verify that the HTTP server has been started successfully, check by looking at the running processes. Run the ps –ef | grep httpd command.
  4. Log into the Administration Console on the server where WebSphere Commerce Server is installed on.
Use the non-root user id that was previously created.
  5. Select Site to work on and click OK.
  6. Click Select, then click the Store Archive tab, and select Publish.
  7. Select a sample composite store to create. Click Next.
  8. Select a sample data and inventory model, then click Finish. It could take up to 30 minutes for this step to complete, depending on the speed of the machine you are using.
  9. Click Next.
Note: At any time while it is publishing, you can check the status by clicking on the Store Archives tab and select Publish Status.
  10. Click Details to see a more detailed status.
You can repeat this procedure to create another sample store. When you are done, you can check the stores that have been created by clicking Publish Status.
  11. Log into the Management Center main page, using the same non-root user id as before, on the server where WebSphere Commerce Server is installed.
    For example, https://9.55.177.114:8000/lobtools/cmc/ManagementCenterMain
